Overview

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the Underwater Acoustics Conference and Exhibition series, it is my great pleasure to invite you to the 9th Underwater Acoustics Conference and Exhibition 2027 (UACE 2027), that will be held 27 June to 2 July 2027 in Valis Resort Hotel, in Volos, Greece.

UACE 2027 will follow the successful tradition of the UACE conference and exhibition series, and its scientific program will include plenary talks, oral presentations and poster papers covering all areas of Underwater Acoustics presented by both experienced researchers and young acousticians. The oral presentations will be organized in structured and normal sessions of invited and regular papers. The format of the Conference aims at creating an atmosphere of friendship and collaboration among scientists working in different topics and levels of experience, which, as we expect, will stimulate discussions and exchange of ideas and suggestions in favor of the further development of underwater acoustics.

In addition, UACE 2027 will host an exhibition of innovative products and services in underwater acoustics and acoustical oceanography, presented by companies active in the area of marine technology.

Two awards sponsored by the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (IACM‑FORTH) will be presented:

  • The John Papadakis Award — addressed to young researchers
  • The Leif Bjørnø Award — addressed to graduate students

We encourage young acousticians to participate in the contests. The late Professors John Papadakis and Leif Bjørnø were the founders of the UACE series.

UACE 2027, following the tradition of the previous editions, will also host a warm atmosphere of social events, thus giving participants and accompanying persons the possibility of a leisure and enjoyable time.

We warmly invite you to submit your latest work and results in underwater acoustics to the scientific program of the conference, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you in Volos next June.

Michael Taroudakis

UACE 2027 Chairman
